Oh Laura - five absolutely magical musicians from heart of Sweden - Stockholm. The audience is really delighted their songs about love and all fellings related with it. In this year, band won Sopot Festival, where they received Amber Nightingale trophy. Specialy for us, Oh Laura gives interview about music, concerts and... polish audience Release Me became international hit very quickly. Thanks to this song you became well known band on whole world. It is said that this advert much better helped you than Saab concern. Were you suprised this success or maybe you were supposed that it can be huge thing?
We knew it was a great song and that it fitted well with the comercial clip, but we had no idea that it would blow up like it did. We didn't mind it one bit though.
How you cope with so big success? Is it not overhelming?
Not really. I mean , we're not exactly big like the Rolling Stones...yet.
Which bands inspired you to make music rather than just listen to it?
All sorts of stuff. It was probably written in the stars for us in some way and we all have very different influences and stuff that we listen to. It varies from John Lennon to Billie Holliday to Dolly Parton to The Band to Queens Of The Stone Age to...
If you could make a mix CD of music by your contemporaries, whom would you include?
Bon Iver, Regina Spektor, Midlake, Aimee Mann, Cherry Ghost, Burial and tons of others.
Let's get back to your album. Do you have any favourties songs from yours A song Inside My head, A demon in my bed?
A call to arms is a favourite, as is Mess you left behind. We also like Lucky tonight, but it's not on the album. You'll have to go see us live to hear that one.
You say that the songs on your record are snapshots of relationship stages. Are yours songs lyrics inspired your life and experiences?
Sure they are. Although they may not be as literal as one might think. The lyrics are not diary notes. They are pop songs.
I have to ask, when we can expect a new album? Are we going to see any change in this record?
Hopefully some time before the summer. The most notable change will pobably be that the nest album is going to be even better than the first one. Perhaps it will also sound a bit more rough. We are currently writing songs for it.
Do you think about the future? What are the elements of a band that can pass the test of time?
Luck. And the odd row.
It is said that polish sport fans are the best. What dou think about polish audience?
Polish fans are great. Very polite and dedicated.
Do you plan visit our country again?
Sure. We love playig n poland and we're working on dates right now.
Thank you very much. Aleksandra Niezbrzycka
